Keeping kids safe in the cyber world workshop

Monday, March 20, 2017 (10-11:30am)

Geared for parents, this workshop reviews the challenges and dangerous situations that may arise through use of the Internet, social media, and smart phones. It is important for parents to be aware of the popular apps, social media sites, and programs used by youth online and the ways it can affect their child with disabilities.

This workshop explains the issues and possible consequences from cyber bullying, sexting, and revealing identifying information to strangers.

Topics will be presented by Camila Barrera, Prevention and Education Coordinator of Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc.
