Paralympian helps children with disabilities gain pride through self-acceptance
After an ATV accident caused athlete Megan Absten to lose her left arm at age 14, Megan struggled to feel like herself again. An avid wrestler, Megan had now lost the ability to compete like she used to. It wasn't until she accepted her new change in abilities that she began to take back her life.
Now Megan is competing in the 2016 Paralympics in Rio, hoping to use her story to inspire more kids with disabilities to take pride in their abilities, saying that "if you own your flaws, you own your life".
